What is Careers Advice?
Our advice services cover:
- Advice about C.V. preparation β identifying skills, presentation and layout, what to put in etc
- Advice about application forms β content, presentation, selling your skills etc
- Help with preparing for interviews
- Advice about learning and training opportunities
- Support to use computer programs such as Adult Directions
- Advice about other sources of help
- Making sense of information
What does it cost?
All adults can have one free session of around 20 minutes and further services may be available in special circumstances.
How long does it take?
Advice is available as a drop-in service and will take approximately 20 minutes. Because itβs a drop-in service you may have to wait to a while.
How can you access services?
In Nottingham you can access services in the city as below:-
Drop-in service: Tuesday 9.30 - 4.00; Thursday 9.30-4.00 at
Nottingham Connexions Centre, 24-32 Carlton Street,
Hockley,
Nottingham NG1 1NN
What else?
If you use the drop-in service the adviser will provide you with a brief summary of the discussion and will ask you to sign some forms so that we can access funding for the service.

Services are funded by the Learning Skills Council or other partner organisations.
