Business Improvement
Guideline Career Services employs a Business Improvement Team to help organisations to understand how they can improve the quality of the services they provide.
Aims
The Business Improvement Team aim to help organisations to implement systems to continuously improve the services they provide. To help them do this, the team offer advice, support and training to:
- Develop and implement key elements of a Performance Management Framework linked to the areas of expertise listed below.
- Develop and implement Change Management Programmes within an organisation linked to the areas listed below.
- Develop and implement Stakeholder Feedback Strategies (including young people, partners and staff).
- Develop and implement a Participation Strategy for the effective involvement of young people within an organisation.
Areas of Expertise
Process Improvement
- Advice, support and training to identify, develop, map and improve processes within an organisation, across departments or with partners. The aim is to ensure that processes are cost-effective and add value to the end users.
- The development and writing of process maps using approved software.
Inspection and Review
- Advice, support and training in relation to preparatory work for inspections and self assessments linked to the areas of expertise listed.
- Advice, support and training in relation to best practice approaches to peer reviews between ‘partner’ organisations.
- Advice, support and training in relation to the implementation of impact assessment frameworks for staff within an organisation.
Research and Evaluation
- Research and evaluation of various projects and activities.
- Designing, conducting and analysing surveys and questionnaires.
Participation of Young People
Activities specifically aimed at young people include:
- Involving young people in research and evaluation activities such as compliments and complaints processes and the inspection of centres.
- Training and supporting young people in recruitment and selection processes.
- Training staff to effectively involve young people in recruitment and selection i.e. Training the Trainers.
Effective project management skills ensures high quality delivery of above activities within cost.
